Introducing Mia Hacker - Artist, Community Arts Worker, Mum, Teacher
I have grown up on the Sunshine Coast and lived in various places from the coast to the hinterland, England and America. I love living and working in the hinterland area and enjoy the peace and quiet of country life. I have a passion for getting the word out about what happens in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast.
Photography has been apart of my life since my Grand-dad gave me my first camera as a young child. My life long learning has enabled me to see things from different perspectives including through a camera lens.
I have been investigating the world around me with a creative eye from an early age. I love taking a second look at sometimes the most common objects or scenes that are around us everyday. I immersed myself in the environment of children through my job as a teacher but also in growing my own family I have been given opportunities be in places and find things that surprise me. Abstract and Creative digital Photography gives me the most pleasure when I am out there snapping my Digital SLR.
