Kevin Schreiber

State Representative, PA House of Representatives in York United States

Kevin Schreiber was elected to serve as state representative for the 95th Legislative District, in York County, in a special election on May 21, 2013. He resides in the city of York with his wife, Jen, and their cavalier spaniel, Lucy.
He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations from York College and his Master's Degree in Public Administration from Penn State University.
Kevin worked for the City of York for seven years before being elected to represent the 95th District. He served as Community and Economic Development Director, overseeing an annual budget of over $6 million and managing over 30 employees. He assisted in over $150 million in economic and community development advances.
Focusing on job creation, Schreiber worked hand-in-hand with start-up businesses, innovative entrepreneurs and business leaders, to improve the local economy, local neighborhoods and the tax base.
His legislative priorities include ensuring that we have the best educational opportunities for all children in the commonwealth to include Pre-K and early learning education through collegiate and higher education, improving public safety, government reform, equal rights and the environment. To advance these priorities he serves on the following house committees: Urban Affairs, Environmental Resources and Energy, Appropriations, and Education. He also serves on the following house caucuses Arts & Culture, Community College, Craft Beer, Early Childhood Education, Latino Affairs, LGBT Equality, Manufacturing, and Women’s Health.
Kevin has worked with Habitat for Humanity, the YWCA, the YMCA, Crispus Attucks Organization, York Housing Authority, private rehabbers, homeowners and many others to bring vacant buildings to better use in neighborhoods in need of change. He serves or has served on the Board of Directors for Downtown Inc., York County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Partnership for Economic Development in York County, and YorkArts.
Kevin has assisted with projects as large as Santander Stadium, the brownfield redevelopment Northwest Triangle (now including the York Academy and LSC Design Headquarters) to the historic preservation of Central Market and Farmers Market and the development of the Marketview Arts Center. He has also assisted the development of market-rate housing projects such as CODO 241 and CODO 28, the Ribbon Lofts, Gable Flats, as well as mixed-income residential projects, including Salem Square, George Street Commons and Homes a Thackston Park.
He hopes to restore bipartisan compromise to state government, establish policy that will advance Pennsylvania's economic competitive advantage and modernize education funding.
