Karen Hillier is a multi-media artist whose recent work is inspired by memory. Working in a variety or mediums - cyanotype, video, ink, laser-cutting - the artist commingles recollections with the act of observation. Ordinary objects used in daily ablutions are venerated with an ironic sense of the monumental. The resulting images are grounded in the material yet characterized by ephemerality.
