Novelist, President, CosmoWorld

Swiss born February 1962. Graduated from Doshisha University with a Bachelor in Japanese literature. 1990-1997: Worked for TV Asahi as the first non-Japanese full time employee of a Japanese TV network. Produced more than 40 documentaries for the evening news program "News Station". 1997: Published his first novel "Ichigensan" which won the Subaru Literary Prize; was nominated for the Akutagawa Prize and made into a movie. Left TV Asahi to become a full time novelist. 1997-2013: Wrote numerous articles, essays and books, including "Alegrias", "Tabi-Nikki (A Travel Diary)", "Inochi no Kaze (The Winds of Life)" and "Fuho-Aisaika (An Illegal Husband in Love)". 2006- 2013: Was active in importing and promoting Swiss absinthe on the Japanese market as the president of his own firm CosmoWorld Inc.

小説家。1962年2月スイス生まれ。
1990年:同志社大学卒業(国文学専攻)。
1990-1997年:日本のテレビ業界で初の外国籍正社員としてテレビ朝日に勤務。報道番組「ニュースステーション」で40本以上の特集を制作。
1997年:処女作「いちげんさん」がすばる文学賞を受賞、芥川賞の候補になり、映画化される。小説家として独立するためテレビ朝日を退社。
1997-2013年:記事やエッセーを書く他、「アレグリア」、「旅日記」、「命の風」や「不法愛妻家」など、多数の本を上梓。
2006-2013年:コスモワールド有限会社代表取締り社長として、日本におけるスイス・アブサンの輸入とプロモーションに携わる。

David Zoppetti is an expert on the alcoholic beverage absinthe. Here he speaks on the history of this once-contraversial drink, and rectifies some of history's inaccurate notions. David advocates the practice of enjoying absinthe properly, and says it's great to partake in at any time of day. (in Japanese)
