Owner , Wellpoint Acupuncture
When I was in my 30s, I became interested in natural health care alternatives for my own health. I decided to try acupuncture for recurrent respiratory infections and fatigue. This was life changing. I felt better, and quite unexpectedly, found a new passion in life: Chinese Medicine. I switched careers from journalism to health care. In 2003, I graduated from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute, now the Maryland University of Integrative Health. Two years ago, I completed my graduate certificate in Chinese Herbal medicine. I have been practicing Acupuncture in Harrisburg for over 10 years now. I am licensed in Pennsylvania and nationally board certified.
Because I view education as an essential dimension of healing, I am always seeking opportunities to learn and serve as a resource for my patients and community. I have given presentations on various health topics at the Movement Center, Healthy Grocer, HACC massage school, Penn State nursing program class, and support groups, as well as others.
Yoga, mindfulness practices, Qi Gong, hiking, biking, spending time outdoors, and humor help me to stay balanced and to deepen my skills. I live in Midtown Harrisburg with my husband Brooks Mountcastle.
