KYČN

BY KYČN
@ VOL 3 ON NOV 02, 2012

KYČN is a casual alternative community of people who are involved in cultural events in Plzen. They work in a studio on open door bases in the old station hall, called "Moving station." They organize art workshops and exhibitions. All around open mindedness is a must in all its directions. They change purity and coldness for hammers and nails, and change stiffness for personal approach. (in Czech)

Make the Way of Making

BY SATOSHI YOSHIIZUMI
@ DESIGNART 2017 OPENING EVENT PECHAKUCHA NIGHT TOKYO SPECIAL! OCTOBER 16 (MONDAY) AT OMOTESANDO HILLS! ON OCT 16, 2017

Designer and artist Satoshi Yoshiizumi takes a deeper look than most into the purity of common objects, this time focusing his unique perspective on the electrical appliance. He treats the electronic components of appliances themselves as his works' materials, imaginatively combining and reconfiguring them in resin without loss of conductivity, retaining their ability to operate as appliances. A purity and beauty seems to rise up out of this seeming distillation of objects and materials, begging the question: at what point do materials stop being materials and start becoming products?
