Ken and Mary's Sex Education

BY KATSUMI SAIKI
@ VOL 112 ON MAR 26, 2014

"It seemed like a good idea at the time..."

In the PechaKucha Spirit of Valentines Day, we ask "What happens when you have two naked female and male dolls, snow on the ground, and a camera?" -- A rather risqué (and hilariously absurd) education on sexual relationships of course! (and now a book well!) Listen as Katsumi Saiki talks about his love of photography and sex from Ken and Mary's Sex Education from PechaKucha Night Tokyo Vol. 112

Transformative Motorcycle Design

BY MATTHEW ROBERTS
@ PECHAKUCHA NIGHT SPECIAL @ AUTODESK POP-UP ON NOV 08, 2015

"The easiest way to describe what we do is like a two wheeled equivalent of the Eames LCW. We're looking for something that's timeless and embodies the essence of motorcycles."

Matthew Roberts of Speedtractor Industries, a custom motorcycle and design studio in Tokyo known from its elegant and personal custom creations, believes motorcycle design has finally come of age, to a place and time where people can appreciate the truest essence of motorcycling. Matthew discusses how a movement of bespoke design houses like his, offer riders and non-riders alike a glimpse of how a a new wave of contemporary design sense won't necessarily have to be rooted in a bygone time, nor will it likely loose it's mod look decades from now. An ultimately cool PechaKucha.

PKN Vilnius Vol. 1

PechaKucha Night made its debut in Vilnius back in January, and although they also had an event during the "Global PechaKucha Day for Haiti" in February, here's a look back at Vol. 1, with the following report from organizer Benas Plentas-Buivydas. On January 28th the first event of PechaKucha Night Vilnius hit the city with great success. Vilnius PechaKucha Vol. 1 took place in the heart of Vilnius' old town at the underground bar "Woo," and was overcrowded by people. The evening’s lineup included the designer of the newest Lithuanian Country logotype, an architect presenting a project on how to decorate the embankments of Vilnius' river Neris, a presentation on the Vilnius city marathon, a presentation on a young female design company, a very hot presentation by a designer of female underwear, and the presentation by a speleologist about the Lithuanian caving record. The highlight, however, turned out to be a presentation made by a Vilnius-born easy-going guy named Vytautas, who unexpectedly enthroned a very sensitive issue about the false image and stereotype of the second biggest city in Lithuania, and also in an easy form advised how to solve the problem using popular social networks.
