Lyla Catellier gives good directions! At PechaKucha Night Brooklyn Volume 8, Lyla put her 7 siblings to the test - a test of spatial memory mapping. With 5/7 siblings worth of maps of her hometown, Lyla explores the wonders of the hippocampus.

Lyla is a lady living in Chelsea NYC. She currently directs public programs and events at Columbia University GSAPP and was once called a swiss army knife. She is a logistics maverick, and has always wanted someone to refer to her as a maverick, and at PK Brooklyn Volume 8, we did!

MECA’s new textile and fashion design program is growing quickly and introducing students to a rare hybrid program of textile and fashion design.  Unique in the US, the TFD program students explore 2D pattern and 3D shape as they create wearable art for the body.

Emily Crumpacker is a connector, a business evangelist, reader, writer and storyteller who lives somewhere between optimism and bliss. Curiosity and adventure drive her and she never forgets a face! It is food, however, that has propelled her into work and a life so full it is hard to comprehend — her years in France as a chef’s assistant in a French culinary school, cooking along side Simone Beck and Julia Child -writing a couple of books, being a spokesperson, working as private chef for Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese and a stint selling Christmas trees—along with many other experiences—have all shaped her inquisitive enthusiasm and pure zest for life.

When not absolutely crushing their PechaKucha Nights in Portland, believe it or not, they're serving their city as professional dog trainers. Just goes to show how our PechaKucha Global community is made of all kinds!
