The Human Body in Co-Creation

PRESENTED ON MAR 06, 2018
IN BRYAN @ VOL 14

Lisette Templin believes that we are not alone in the Universe. When we open our heart to healing, we find ourselves on a path that allows us to experience (and thus use) the life force called Qi. To co-create with this divine life force, we need to fine-tune our bodies to use Qi. We wish to introduce you to the act of co-creating through a meditative art of moving and non-moving forms called Sheng Zhen Gong. Sheng Zhen means the sacred truth of unconditional love. When we regularly practice this meditative state of unconditional love, we move the human body in a way that heals current health issues and also helps prevent disease. Therefore, we experience health and also co-create life.

Body Language

BY GAETAN SCHMID
@ VOL 12 ON JAN 27, 2016

“You might see this when you don't know when to shut up. He wants to cover your mouth with his hand to get you to shut up, but that’s socially not correct so he projects his intentions over his own face.”

In Body Language from PechaKucha Night Johannesburg’s 12th volume, speaker Gaetan Schmid presents on the not quite secret language of the human body.  We create impressions in others minds of how we sit, stand and walk, he provides the guidebook to them. A very comical and informative presentation from what he has learnt in Theatre.

This was "PechaKucha of the Day" on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2016.

Making peace with gravity: realizing human potential through Rolf Structural Integration

BY SHARI HEFTEL
@ VOL 14 ON MAR 06, 2018

Shari Heftel presents about Gravity: that silent, ever present force that constantly pulls us to the ground, is something that most people are aware of, but only peripherally. We all know that if we drop something it will fall to the earth. What most people are not aware of is how gravity is affecting our bodies for good or for bad. How we stand, sit, each step we take, each movement we make, is done with the force of gravity pushing down. When human bodies are misaligned and out of balance, gravity aggravates that condition pushing us further off balance. Bodies that are off balance are constantly fighting with gravity, working harder, struggling to stay upright and fully functioning. Chronic pain, fatigue, emotional distress, and disease in the body can all stem from the misalignment in our bodies. Ida Pauline Rolf, founder of Rolf Structural Integration, also known as Rolfing, believed that when bodies get working appropriately, gravity can flow through and healing can occur. When our bodies are aligned, balanced, organized, and integrated we become more effective human beings, leaving struggle behind allowing human potential and creativity to blossom.
