Democracy

BY MARIJE VAN DEN BERG
@ VOL 16 ON JUL 06, 2016

Marije van den Berg: ‘when I close my eyes, I see a world that is getting much better at democracy. The way we are going about it now is wasting. A waste of energy, talent, possibility, love, power and let’s not forget: a lot of money. We really can get much better at being a democracy, but only when we understand it better. What will be your part in it?’

Unity in Diversity?

BY VERENA RIEDMILLER
@ VOL 32 ON FEB 06, 2017

As a young EU citizen who is convinced that there can only be a European solution to our present and future (political) challenges, Verena Riedmiller feels that Europeans need to stand up now for a more democratic Europe. A Europe, in which the voices of its diverse citizens are heard, a Europe, which does not only preach values but brings them to life.

Her proposal for such a Europe comes in the form of the NGO cube. Your take on Europe. Cube. educates, engages and empowers young people in Europe to voice their ideas for a Europe of the future towards the European Commission.

The EU is not a set political reality, each and every one of us can raise their voice and shape our political future!
