Smart about our Shit

PRESENTED ON SEP 16, 2014
IN LONDON @ TOTO TOILET ARCHITECTURE

Being smart about our "shit", is what may save us in the future.

Barbara Penner expresses her academic knowlegde of toilets and what goes into them. How much do we flush away, and what people can do to conserve their waste, not only the "stuffs" that goes through us, but the water that is going through the pipes as well. It doesn't take a 'rocket surgeon' to know, that in developing countries, water is scarce and highly valued. So it is a opportunity to develope toilets that do not need the use of water, and uses our human wastes intellegently.

Back to Basics

BY ROCK GRAPLIN
@ TOTO TOILET ARCHITECTURE ON SEP 16, 2014

Eat, Pray, and Toilet.

Rock Graplin goes into depth and starts trying to understand the future of the toilet. For him, understanding the past is how to see the future. In a world full of new technology being produced every 5 minutes. And the last place to escape is the toilet, and that should be how our future of the toilet should look like. Simple, clean, and simply earthly.

In Architecture and the Poo Story from PechaKucha Night Broome’s 3rd Volume speaker Jessica Black talks about humanity’s favorite taboo, or, in specific, how to flush it away. Watch as she discusses different ways to break down barriers and hierarchies during remote, cross-cultural architecture projects.
