My Journey From Actress to Filmmaker

Annie Griffin is an Edinburgh based filmmaker. Originally from the US, she moved to the UK as a student.  She began her career as an actress in fringe theatre, frequently performing at the Edinburgh Festival. She formed her own production company in the 90s, and moved to Scotland. Her work includes The Book Group for Channel 4 and the feature film Festival. In 1992 she was fortunate to see Prince in concert at Earls Court on the Diamonds and Pearls tour.

Brittany Rafalak is an independent filmmaker who shares some useful tricks and know-how she has learned through the years for making a film on a budget. Unlike other creative artists, a filmmaker can't simply pick up a camera and start filming, so she has had to devise creative strategies to produce the films she wants, on a limited budget. Her presentation inspires us as creative artists, even those who are not filmmakers, to not let finances stop us from achieving our vision.
