How to FAKE it in Hollywood

BY BRAD GORMAN
@ VOL 3 ON NOV 12, 2015

"I packed up everything I owned into my little red Chrysler LeBaron convertible, (I know, right, gayest car ever, and this was before I came out, which is a whole other PechaKucha), and I drove 2000 miles from Michigan to Los Angeles, to follow my dreams."

Brad Gorman wasn't always living a tranquil life in Benton Harbor, MI as Communications & Media Manager for Whirlpool Corporation. Nope, not always. In his twenties he gave it a "go" out in Hollywood where he learned a thing or two about the industry, rejection, persistence and how to "FAKE IT". In How to FAKE it in Hollywood from PechaKucha Night St. Joseph Vol. 3, Brad shares his Hollywood dream of making it big.

This was "PechaKucha of the Day" on Thursday, December 31st, 2015.

BY BRITTANY RAFALAK
@ VOL 1 ON MAR 15, 2018

Brittany Rafalak is an independent filmmaker who shares some useful tricks and know-how she has learned through the years for making a film on a budget. Unlike other creative artists, a filmmaker can't simply pick up a camera and start filming, so she has had to devise creative strategies to produce the films she wants, on a limited budget. Her presentation inspires us as creative artists, even those who are not filmmakers, to not let finances stop us from achieving our vision.
