Art of the Pencils

BY CAROLINE WEAVER
@ VOL 16 ON SEP 01, 2016

“Pencil is a small thing that can make a big difference in the lives of people who use them.”

In "Art of the Pencil" from PechaKucha Night New York Vol.16 , Caroline Weaver, amateur pencil collector but lifelong pencil lover, founded CW Pencil Enterprise in November 2014. With her pencil experts, Caroline digs up the stories and origins of these objects and make them accessible to those who appreciate them for their functionality, beauty and history. As simple as it may be, the pencil is something which despite advances in technology will never become obsolete.

This was "PechaKucha of the Day" on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016.

How to paint a planet in 20x20 seconds

BY GEORGE DATSERIS
@ VOL 7 ON MAY 09, 2017

When George Datseris started Spray Paint Art, he was immediately hooked by the simplicity of it and how quickly you could get good looking results. In a few months of self-practice, he got better and was soon even asked to display his artwork.

A few years and art exhibitions later, he decided to teach people about the art himself and hand over his excitement for the craft. To show how easy it can actually be, he decided to take the crisp format of PechaKucha to turn it into a tutorial on how to get started being creative with the spray cans and paint a planet - in less than 20x20 seconds!
