Heriberto Matinez impulsa el movimiento "Caminando en mi barrio" donde los vecinos se han unido a través de un trabajo voluntario para renovar las banquetas de la colonia, con la técnica del mosaico. Se han creado sinergias uniendo a la comunidad y a todas las personas que aportan tanto trabajo como materiales para ir reconstruyendo estos espacios públicos. La calle está notablemente más vivída, utilizada y disfrutada.
