Anne Bedos is the founder and manager of Rothar. Rothar uses bikes to tackle environmental, social & economic challenges in Dublin. It creates local solutions to global issues through the promotion of sustainable urban transport with cycling. The creation of employment and training opportunities for marginalised individuals is central to the enterprise.

Environmental Customization

Camille Clerc is a young french architect who finished her internship study in an architect's office in Stavenger, Norway called Helen & Hard Agency. She shows us how people and especially young people are involved in their environment by creating animation and gaming sites. Their goal is to move away from a solely technical and anthropocentric view, allowing the project to unfold in relation to its physical, social, cultural and economic context. (In French)

The Growdome Project

Niall O'Brien shares the Grow Dome Project , which aims to empower communities sustainably and socially. Dublin's first geodesic grow dome in the heart of Dublin 8 is an intensive all-year-round sustainable food production tool, an arts and music exhibition space, a community meeting and education area, and an iconic artwork in its own right – all at the same time. Our prototype is nearing completion and the plan is to build 40 domes in the next 5 years.

NÓS workshop

Brian Barber presentis NósWorkshop, a design collective of graduate architects working out of Dublin which emerged during the recession.  Over the last few years, they have taken part in a series of exhibitions, competitions and created various installations throughout Ireland.  All of their projects thus far have not involved the conventional ‘client’ but rather stem from a collaboration with a local community to develop and construct a project.

Shane Waring has worked as architect for private ecological architecture practice Solearth, co-founded Ireland’s first and only carsharing service GoCar, and also formed part of Designing Dublin a transdisciplinary team which used various design processes including design-thinking to explore vitality in Dublin City. He currently works as an architect in Dublin City Council and recently established Dublin City Council beta – aDublin City Council live mechanism for trialling, assessing & implementing ways to improve the experience of life in the city.

Having successfully completed a course at Ballyfermot College of Further Education in Television Operations and Production he now works primarily in the field of documentary television.
