Drawing the Line

Harini Kannan is a freelance Illustrator based in Chennai and a graduate of fashion design from NIFT Chennai 2012. She is sharing the story behind the Drawing the line workshop for female graphic artists  in Delhi and her creation: "That's not fair" ilustration story published in Drawing the line, Indian women fight back book in February, 2015.

Using Art as a Medium to Raise Awareness

Varuna Srinivasan is a medical student just passing out of SRM Medical University, Chennai. She has interest in the non-profit sector. She has volunteered with multiple NGO’s and arranged various awareness raising events and recently she started her own organization ‘Tribal Hearts Foundation’ where the goal is to find creative ways to raise awareness on key issues.

Russel Nickson still explores what he is but as of now he is an entrepreneur and technologist from India with a great passion in programming and creative design. Other than that he loves bikes and he enjoys playing football. He wouldn’t say he is addicted to music but yeah he spends solid time listening to different genres of music. Ultimately he makes sure his life never gets boring doing the same thing over and over again.

Reclaiming the Streets of Chennai

Aswathy Dilip talks about a citizen's initiative called Namma Chennai Namakke, for which she is taking the lead in gathering the support of Chennai citizens, including automobile owners, to embrace car-free streets on Sunday mornings. The space it is hoped can be used to promote healthy and happy lifestyles, and social capital through community building activities. When Dilip is not passionately spending time at work, she spends it with her naughty little son.
