The Anatomy of an (Architectural) Model

BY BARTLOMIEJ K. SAPETA
@ VOL 94 ON JUL 25, 2012

Presenting design projects to the public does not warrant an opportunity to explain choices made during the production of architectural models. However, these are essential elements of the design process that have an ability to significantly enhance the quality of the presentation, especially when complex three-dimensional spatial arrangements are present, time, resources, and budgets are limited and artistic visions and values are at stake. This presentation examines an array of choices that led to a production of an architectural model on a rapid prototyping machine.

BY BEVERLY BEST

It later formed a single financial and economic space (an Economic Union) in June 2000.  Dubbed as one of the biggest global secrets, the OECS comprising 10 Small Island Developing States with a combined population of approximately 600,000 (which are among the smallest SIDS in the world) are at the forefront of regional integration, and represent the tightest regional grouping and most successful global model of integration to date.
