What do Eve and boxing coach Frankie Dunn, the character played by Clint Eastwood in Million Dollar baby, have in common? Why should we acknowledge Eve as the founding mother of ethical reasoning?

In her talk about the importance of ethical heroism Ellen ter Gast introduces the concept of bold ethics. She argues that bold ethics is of key importance for the management of complex issues in 21st century and illustrate that Eve was much more than the woman who took a bite from the forbidden fruit. She was the first true moral hero.

Learning to Teach Ethics
