Oh What A Night!

We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come from getting something we don’t have, but from recognizing and appreciating what we do have. A REALLY BIG thank you to everyone who made PechaKucha Night #ldnont vol. 1 a success and who brought so much energy to the room to support our vol. 1 presenters and community.

A big shout out to our very first PechaKucha Night #ldnont vol. 1 speakers:

−     Paul Grech

−     Sarah Ashfield

−     Kenny Khoo

−     Andrew Kaszowski

I ended up stepping in at the last minute as a presenter, as we originally had seven people booked… and was happy for the opportunity. It takes a lot of guts to get up there and present, so a big thank you to Paul, Sarah, Kenny and Andrew for leaning in and seizing the opportunity to share your personal and professional experiences.

I had a sense of pride looking out into audience. Seeing so many different people representing different industries, diverse cultures and numerous generations coming together to support one another while sharing passions and experiences… it made my heart smile.

A big thanks to our wonderful sponsors:

−      201 Solutions who sponsored the cost of the space at Innovation Works, coffee and tea

−      AtPrint who provided us 50 posters to post around the city

−      Melrose Bakery who provided us with two trays of yummy goodies

−      Mc Spirit Studios who did the audio recordings and took some photos

Our turnout was fabulous with just over 60 people (which was a 75% attendance rate based on our initial registrations). As well, thank you to the attendees who donated to the PechaKucha Global Fund and contributed items for the London Food Bank: we dropped off 3 boxes to the London Food Bank this week and $88.00 CDN is being transferred via PayPal to the PK Global Fund.

Stay tuned for details around PechaKucha Night #ldnont vol. 2 which will be happening on Tuesday, April 25th at Innovation Works from 6:20pm – 8:20pm.

High-fives and fist-bumps!
