Vaelei Walkden-Brown

Art Gallery Owner + Curator, 557 Artist Gallery in Penticton Canada

Vaelei established the 557 Artist Block in July, 2015. Intended to run as a one month pop-up shop the 557 Artist Block quickly became a cultural hub for the small city of Penticton, British Columbian and the pop up became a 1 year venture. Through the exhibition of works by over 30 British Columbian artists and designers, a myriad of live music events and even Kundalini yoga classes, the 557 Artist Block fed the appetites of many creative souls in the area.
Vaelei's background in Interior Architecture has helped her understand the way the arts in all forms help to feed and enliven urban culture.
