Matt Gee is a research fellow at the University of Chicago’s Urban Center for Computation and Data, the cofounder and Chief Scientist at Effortless Energy, and founding organizer of the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Data Science for Social Good Summer Fellowship. He was the founding director of the Center for Impact Measurement, an early effort to match graduate students with analytical training to nonprofits with data analysis needs. He has organized and led dozens of large analytics projects with federal, state, and local governments, social enterprise, and nonprofit partners. He is also currently leading a major effort by the Smart Chicago Collaborative to map and align Chicago’s rich but fragmented data ecosystem in the service of its residents.
