Flying

BY MARK COOK
@ VOL 20 ON DEC 05, 2013

Pilot Mark Cook really enjoys his job. Despite the difficulties that bad weather can bring, nothing compares to flying at 200 miles per hour and getting to see the sunset up close. In his own words, "aviation is where I live, and life is just a place where I spend time between flights."

Discoveries While Studying Inflammation

BY MARK COOK
@ VOL 10 ON AUG 28, 2014

Mark Cook discusses a question: Why do chickens grow faster in germfree vs. conventional environments? It was called the billion dollar problem. This investigation led directly or indirectly to discoveries such as a hairball formula for cats, a breath detection of infection for the critically ill, and much more. To date, the billion dollar chicken problem remains unsolved, but the chickens keep pointing to answers in different directions.
