James Nokise

Comedian / Writer, Freelance in Wellington New Zealand

James Nokise is a Stand-Up Comic, Playwright, Writer for TV and Radio, Social Commentator, and occasional Academic Speaker... In other words, he works in the Arts in Wellington.

Born of immigrant parents (Welsh Mother, Samoan Father) and raised in Wellington during the 80's and 90's, his humour has often focussed on the ridiculousness in bigotry and prejudice.

He has been nominated for the Billy T James Award twice, the Chapman Tripp Best New Writer Award, and New Zealand Comedy Festival's Best New Show for his political satire series Public Service Announcements.
