Jake Wells

Art Instructor, Nashville State Community College in Nashville United States

Jake’s main inspiration is derived from the natural world. He comes from an artistic background influenced by watercolor landscape paintings done by his grandfather, a well know regional artist. He is a Missouri native, and has lived in Nashville, TN since 2009. Jake received his BFA in Painting from Southeast Missouri State University in 2004, and his MFA in Painting from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 2009. He has shown nationally at venues such as the Zolla-Lieberman Gallery and the Zhou B. Art Center in Chicago, Illinois, as well as locally in Nashville. Jake is also a board member of a Turnip Green Creative Reuse, and teaches workshops. He has been an adjunct art faculty member at both Volunteer and Nashville State Community Colleges since 2010.
