George H. Scheetz has over 38 years’ experience as a professional librarian, first as a reference librarian and, most recently, for over 30 years, as the chief executive officer of three different public libraries in Sioux City, Champaign, and Batavia.
He earned his Master of Science in Library Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
His interests include (but are not limited to) books, especially the works of Philip José Farmer and Thorne Smith; placenames; Rotary International; his cats; The Addams Family; words that end in –gry; local history; and his spousal equivalent. A skilled copy-editor, he is known, now and again, to judge others by their grammar. On April 23, he celebrates Georgemas. He lives in Batavia and has two adult children.
