in Buffalo, NY
Elizabeth A. Walsh, PhD is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Urban and Regional Planning at the University at Buffalo, SUNY. As a scholar-practitioner of regenerative design and development, Walsh believes that sustaining extractive economic growth by reducing its social and ecological harm is not acceptable. Universities must do more. As human beings part of a larger web of life, we can become agents of regeneration in an economy designed to support the flourishing of life in our common home. In service of this vision, Walsh leads the Champions for Change program of One Region Forward, a community innovation laboratory that integrates university and community resources to ignite bright ideas and inspired leadership for a flourishing region. Walsh holds a Ph.D. in community and regional planning from The University of Texas and a Bachelor’s of Arts from Wellesley College. She has conducted community-engaged action research in Boston, Austin, and Buffalo.
