Student, Texas A&M University
Adam Rothstein was born in Livingston, NJ in 1986. Shortly thereafter he and his parents moved to Jacksonville, FL where his sisters and he grew up. After high school, Adam attended the University of Florida where he graduated with a BA in English, focusing on Film Criticism and Theory in 2009.
Adam began working in film and theater production as a technician during his senior year at UF, and continued freelancing after he graduated. A short time later, he returned to school to nurture his math and science interests by pursuing a BS in Architectural Engineering from Drexel University in 2010.
In order to support himself and pay his tuition, he continued working in film and theater nights and weekends until he realized that this work brought him much more satisfaction than his studies. He withdrew from Drexel and committed himself fully to freelancing in film and theater.
Over the course of a few years, Adam worked many different jobs in film and theater production, focusing mainly on the visual aspects of lighting, camerawork, and most recently: visual effects. The visual effects work is a perfect blend of creative and technical problem solving, and it is with this new direction that he has returned to school (yet again) to pursue an MFA in Visualization at Texas A&M University.
Adam hopes to return to the film industry after graduating where he will be able to travel and jump back into the live, on-set environment that he loves so much. In his free time, this Libra also enjoys drawing, reading and looking at his friends’ faces while they watch funny videos on YouTube.
