Not until his wife found some old frosted Michigan glassware, and he knew at that point he must chase his 'whale' no matter how many good or bad memories that may entail.

Past years' topics have included "Snowflake-ology", Un-average Sleighs, Ski-Jumps of the World, "Yuletide Shrubbery" (read: Christmas Trees) and more. This year at PechaKucha Night Tokyo Vol. 142, he takes on "Bob's Sleigh" and the fascinating and little known world of bobsledding, elucidating on the sport's rich history, the technical intricacies of track and sleigh, and some of the sport's best stories. Poster for PKN Shenzhen Vol. 3
In the US, the 4th of July is a huge holiday, and in Shenzhen, that date marks a celebration of another kind: PechaKucha Night Vol. 3! It will take place at Idutang Oct Loft (previously knowns as C-Union), and kicks off at 19:30. The poster was designed by Ana Rio.

It's that time of the year when we receive a lot of holiday and New Year wishes from many of our organizers, and here's an image that we liked, to represent 2012. It was sent to us by Vicenç Mulet of VMA Projectes, who was behind this recent one-off PechaKucha event in Palma.

PKN Posters: Toronto Vol. 20
Twenty is key to the numerologists here at PechaKucha HQ (20 images, 20 seconds). In Japan, we recently celebrated Coming of Age Day, a national holiday to celebrate those who have stepped into adulthood (age 20). Toronto is holding their super-sweet Volume 20 night on January 22nd, so you could say that they're "Coming of Age" as well! City Focus: Tulsa

In “Branding Christmas” from PKN Tokyo Vol. 120, he discusses the origins of Santa Claus, Coca-Cola’s role in the holiday, and the expectations set by companies from all over.
