Not until his wife found some old frosted Michigan glassware, and he knew at that point he must chase his 'whale' no matter how many good or bad memories that may entail.

PechaKucha co-founder and half of the dynamic duo that makes up Klein Dytham architecture, Mark Dytham delivers his annual holiday season presentation in 20x20 fashion. Past years' topics have included "Snowflake-ology", Un-average Sleighs, Ski-Jumps of the World, "Yuletide Shrubbery" (read: Christmas Trees) and more. This year at PechaKucha Night Tokyo Vol. 142, he takes on "Bob's Sleigh" and the fascinating and little known world of bobsledding, elucidating on the sport's rich history, the technical intricacies of track and sleigh, and some of the sport's best stories. Question Mark: Who's Bob? (Hint: Watch and find out!)

Emma studeerde vorig jaar af aan de Design Academy Eindhoven met 'VRcation', de virtuele reisorganisatie die jouw online samengestelde vakantie gewoon voordelig bij je thuisbezorgt (en verkocht deze VRcations vervolgens bloedserieus op de Vakantiebeurs in Utrecht).

In the US, the 4th of July is a huge holiday, and in Shenzhen, that date marks a celebration of another kind: PechaKucha Night Vol. 3! It will take place at Idutang Oct Loft (previously knowns as C-Union), and kicks off at 19:30. The poster was designed by Ana Rio.

PKN Posters: Toronto Vol. 20

Twenty is key to the numerologists here at PechaKucha HQ (20 images, 20 seconds). In Japan, we recently celebrated Coming of Age Day, a national holiday to celebrate those who have stepped into adulthood (age 20). Toronto is holding their super-sweet Volume 20 night on January 22nd, so you could say that they're "Coming of Age" as well! Branding Christmas

“This particular American company commissioned an American-born Finnish man to create a character for their seasonal sales event…” Product and industrial designer Juho Viitasalo takes to the stage for a special exercise examining the branding behind Christmas. In “Branding Christmas” from PKN Tokyo Vol. 120, he discusses the origins of Santa Claus, Coca-Cola’s role in the holiday, and the expectations set by companies from all over.

First Event

KRAM & Ashland Sustainability is in the process of coordinating the first PechaKucha Ashland Event. It's an exciting event allowing people to share their ideas, works, thoughts, projects, etc................... Over 1000 cities across the globe have held events & now is the perfect time for Ashland to join the fun. Format PechaKucha 20X20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. PK is about bringing attention to something you love. The creative class is drawn to this format, e.g., artists, architects, non-profits, etc........ but it's for anyone. Frequently Asked Questions1. What is PechaKucha 20x20? PechaKucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images.2. What are PechaKucha Nights? PechaKucha Nights are informal and fun gatherings where creative people get together & share their ideas, works, thoughts, holiday snaps -- just about anything, really -- in the PechaKucha 20x20 format. Every PechaKucha Night city is hosted by a local organizer, who has an annual Handshake Agreement with PechaKucha HQ to run their event series.
