Salutation to Corrugation
BY MARK LANGAN
@ VOL 9
ON SEP 24, 2010

Turn On Your Eco-Thinking
BY ROMAN SABLIN
Roman Sablin, eco-lifestyle trainer and social engineer, helps to promote and implement social projects that create a better future. Roman’s presentation helps people go greener, that is to work on sustainable consumption, turn on eco-thinking in our daily life and routine habits. He explains how to choose healthy and safe cosmetics, food, and surround yourself with the necessary minimum of high-quality things. (in Russian)
Sonya Luz Hinton Constanza uses her life to illustrate how many modern products have plastic components, and how to limit our plastic consumption as much as possible.
She then looks at the average consumption rate of single-use plastic bags worldwide, and points to various cities which have already banned these bags, urging Taos to do the same.
Criminal Justice -OR- Sustainability?
BY JOSHUA BYRD
@ VOL 29
ON MAY 22, 2016
Joshua Byrd has been on a criminal justice journey his whole life. Quite a bit of it was spent on one side of that journey: US Marines, Dept. of Defense, Georgia Sheriff Deputy, Superior Court of Fulton County (GA), North Carolina Dept. of Justice, United States EPA... The man knows what he talks about when he says there is a better way to approach crime in our country and in our cities. Listen in as Joshua talks "4-D" involvement and sustainability as a road to better criminal justice pratices.
Time and Tide
BY JO ATHERTON
@ VOL 7
ON SEP 27, 2016
Artist Jo Atherton highlights the diversity of plastic objects washing ashore on the British coastline, and how the ubiquity of this material enables us to reinterpret stories of our time. Millions of years ago, fuelled by sunlight, marine plankton flourished and then settled on the ocean floor, slowly transforming into oil. This same oil is used to produce the endless plastic objects that dominate our everyday lives. When inked and printed, plastic flotsam fragments bear a stark resemblance to the rich diversity of microscopic marine life - a worrying and ironic connection to a beautiful natural process.

Tower Neighbourhood Renewal
“These are the most important buildings of the future.” Architect Graeme Stewart speaks out on benefits of 1960s tower-style high-density urban housing as opposed to the sprawl often found in the US. In “Tower Neighbourhood Renewal” from PKN Toronto’s special Urban Innovation Happy Hour, we see that Graeme has taken the lead on the Tower Renewal project — whereby he’s taken steps to eco-retrofit these 50-year-old buildings, and worked to transform the surrounding areas into villages through policy changes and community-building campaigns.
