One day, artist Mark Langan received a large amount of corrugated cardboard boxes from his neighbors, and decided to do something amazing with them. His three-dimensional works are composed entirely of recycleable material, and have become popular among eco-friendly movers and shakers.

Sonya Luz Hinton Constanza uses her life to illustrate how many modern products have plastic components, and how to limit our plastic consumption as much as possible.
She then looks at the average consumption rate of single-use plastic bags worldwide, and points to various cities which have already banned these bags, urging Taos to do the same.

Maha Nasrallah and Maya Karkour share the adventurous experience of turning an old house into an exemplary, award winning eco-friendly home. Green magic, if you will!
Taking something old and crumbling away, and refurbishing it and enhancing what is already there, is a step closer to eco-friendly living and homes. Reusing and recycling wood, and using natural materials, Maha and Maya were able to create and inspire more to do the same.

Many Pacific islanders share a cultural identity and a view of time that are imbued with existential echoes. Mary Hattori will share the Chamoru (Guamanian) concept of time as a circular phenomenon which creates echoes from the past that shape reality in the present and future. Mary is a native of Guåhan and serves as a lecturer for UH’s Learning Design and Technology Department and the Educational Doctorate in Professional Educational Practice.

One of the projects presented at last week's PechaKucha Night in Tokyo Vol. 72 was Nagano-based Charles Ward's Fukuro Chan, a comic character that Charles uses to reach out to people and raise awareness of eco concerns.

“These are the most important buildings of the future.” Architect Graeme Stewart speaks out on benefits of 1960s tower-style high-density urban housing as opposed to the sprawl often found in the US. In “Tower Neighbourhood Renewal” from PKN Toronto’s special Urban Innovation Happy Hour, we see that Graeme has taken the lead on the Tower Renewal project — whereby he’s taken steps to eco-retrofit these 50-year-old buildings, and worked to transform the surrounding areas into villages through policy changes and community-building campaigns.
