Lyla is a lady living in Chelsea NYC. She currently directs public programs and events at Columbia University GSAPP and was once called a swiss army knife. She is a logistics maverick, and has always wanted someone to refer to her as a maverick, and at PK Brooklyn Volume 8, we did!

As part of this month's London Design Festival, Nissan Design Europe is hosting a special evening of PechaKucha presentations, "East West," tomorrow night (September 23) at the Rotunda. This past Wednesday's opening party for the Web Directions East 3-day web conference turned into a three-way collaboration, teaming up with the monthly Tokyo 2.0 web professional meet-ups for a night of PechaKucha presentations. Unconventional Formwork, What a Creative Director Does, and a Video from Barcelona
Presentations Daniel Silverman is an architect, and in his presentation (from PKN Shenzhen Vol. 11) he shares a few projects that use unconventional materials for the formwork aspect of construction. Creative directors do not just get to go to parties nowadays, but as is revealed in this presentation (in Spanish, from PKN Barcelona Vol. 14) by Rafa Bonichon, they have to be able to distinguish between what is bullshit and what is a good idea.
