Tales of Topoi

Inspired by Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama's "Tales of Tono," two mathematicians (Roman Kossak and Andrés Villaveces) and two artists (Wanda Siedlecka and María Clara Cortés) embark on a photographic dialogue in search for ways to find common grounds for both mathematics and art. Andrés Villaveces, one of the mathematicians, discusses this ongoing project. (In Spanish)

Digital Kaleidoscopic Images

Jim Dugan is a commercial photographer based in Rockland who photographs a variety of subjects, from food and real estate to sailing and kayaking. In 1991, he received an artist’s residency on Monhegan Island. He has also worked as a kayak guide and he teaches photography every summer aboard the schooner Mary Day. His latest work is digital kaleidoscopic images of Maine scenes.

In Cul de Sacs to Bureaucrats - Tales from a Socially Engaged Practice from PechaKucha Night Glasgow Vol.28Rebecca Davies embedded participatory practice manifests in illustration, performance and event that centres on themes of people and place. Her project, which is called  "The Oasis Social Club", was selected to represent London during the Mons Capital of Culture 2015 and has just completed a tour of Stoke On Trent, Preston and Hull. In this presentation, she will be talking about her projects and the ethics of these processes. 

This was "PechaKucha of the Day" on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016.
