Author Jared Angel introduces his ebook, Betraying the God of Light, and explains his views on archetypal conflicts, and how he attempted to create a fantasy novel with a more complicated moral compass than simply good versus evil. He uses real world examples and popular fantasy stories to illustrate the problems with such a black and white worldview, and the lack of diversity that often accompanies it.

This urban light art intervention uses wind, swarm intelligence, and logarithmic lighting control to achieve its artistic vision. The project is part of the Helsinki World Design Capital 2012 year.

Cindi Drennan's projects covered in the following presentation look to do two things: bring life to the city -- to retailers, etc. -- at night, and broaden the audience of art installations (in this case, projected lighting installations). She accomplishes both, as you'll see through the "New Light Industrial" and "Night Mural" installations, not only bringing an audience to parts of the city they wouldn't normally visit -- especially to take in art -- but also giving artists a new audience, with their works out of the gallery and onto the street.

Shadows and Light - Architecture, Abroad in Japan
