LIHIYA Co-founder & Design Director

Hailing from Africa, Dumile begins by sharing about her original family. By hosting fashion shows, Dumile got to know many indigenous Taiwanese children. Dumile was surprised at how bold they were in proffering ideas. Then, turning to the differences between Africa and Taiwan, Dumile drew inspiration from both countries and turned them into designs, stressing her intense feelings towards Taiwan.

With many years of experience in different locations around the world, Annie is now a dear friend of Taiwan. She became deeply involved in Taiwanese culture after receiving a “Trip View Bowl” as gift. She thought that the blue-and-white porcelain bowl was beautiful but it needed someone to tell its story to global audiences. Soon after, Annie started a major book project to find 100 iconic products and interview the designers. Many challenges were on the way but she was brave and motivated to finish the work. Annie says: When I follow my dream, I see “impossible” as “I’m possible”.
