BY ANDRE LOVATT
@ VOL 23 ON MAY 04, 2015

The Arts Centre in Christchurch is a neo-gothic campus, once hosting the local university, converted into a space for local artists to practise and showcase. Severely damaged in the Canterbury earthquakes, it is now going through an extensive restoration. Arts Centre CEO Andre Lovatt gives people an insight into the restoration of the Arts Centre, to explain what it is that they have been doing since the earthquakes, show the process visually and give an indication on the progress that is being made. Showing the love, care and attention that so many people are giving to their restoration work and how, when it is all done, the Arts Centre, and the Christchurch wider community, will be so much better for it.

Me at 12 to My Daughter at 12: A Story of Connection

BY LISA LING
@ VOL 1 ON MAR 15, 2018

Is success the key to happiness?

At one point in her life, Lisa Ling had become an accomplished martial artist, concert pianist, lawyer, and even an Action Queen, but realized that it was not making her happy. Her presentation is a letter to her daughter at 12, about what she wished she had known when she was 12-- that chasing success will not make you happy, and that it is important to let go of control and feel the love within. Now, she measures success by how much joy she had in the day, which we might also do well to emulate.
