Social Media : Writing On The Wall

BY DELWIN KEASBERRY
@ VOL 1 ON NOV 01, 2014

Through social media, we are more connected and informed than ever before. Delwin Keasberry, a social media personality, points out the imbalance which exist in the face of ‘hot topics’ between those few with quick and assured opinions. So strong are their voices that they drown out the moderators, and the crowd. On the other hand, there are those who remain silent and wait for the storm to blow over. Though some of us choose to stand apart, we are not unaffected by these kinds of situations. Are we doomed to intemperate viewpoints dominating the world of social media? Can we imagine being part of the movement that is willing to push the gap between these two extremes and grow into better adjusted social networking community?

Murals with POW! Murals that WOW!

BY KAMEA HADAR
@ VOL 129 ON OCT 28, 2015

For a muralist, a great white wall is but an opportunity, and this is no different for designer/artistic director Kamea Hadar. Get psyched to hear Kamea Hadar who came to PechaKucha Night Tokyo Vol. 129, all in all the way from Hawaii to speak on his role as co-lead director of Pow! Wow! — a global artists gathering set in cities all over the world.

Wow!の創立者のひとりであるKamea Hadarさんが、 Pow! Wow!でのご自身の活動や役割について披露されています。グローバルなアーティストがこぞって参加するPow! Wow!は世界各地で勢力的に展開中で、日本でも開催されました。

Advocacy through Animation

BY NEIA OMER
@ VOL 29 ON MAY 22, 2016

"When you educate a man, you educate an individual, but when you educate a woman, you educate a generation."

In Advocacy through Animation from PechaKucha Night Atlanta Vol. 29,  Neia Omer tells her story. Animation is a inclusive medium when one is trying to reach a large subset of individuals. What do you do and where do you start if you know absolutely ZERO things about animation? What is your subject matter? Neia Omer's story is a personal journey, a personal goal, a family legacy, and one of animation being the key to her brand of advocacy.

This was "PechaKucha of the Day" on Monday, June 13th, 2016.
