In How Restraint will Fuel Your Creativity from Pechakucha Night Shanghai Vol.27, seemingly contradictionary, Pierrick Calvez makes the case that restraint can actually give you more freedom. He backs this up with relevant examples from various artists. Our conclusion: Think outside of the box, but putting yourself in a(nother) smaller box!

@ VOL 16 ON AUG 06, 2015

"I was in China, I was alone. I said 'How can I do it? How can I make it? I have 10 days in my hotel. Lets do something!'"

In Strain-ger than Fiction from PechaKucha Night Knoxville Vol. 16, Ryann Aoukar summarizes the process of designing a product, prototyping it, marketing it, having it picked up by the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, failing to bring the product to the mass market, failing on Kickstarter, relaunching the product after a year, finally getting it made, getting it stolen 3 times in less than a month, getting featured with the founder of Alibaba in the Globe and Mail, and selling it in 32 countries around the world.

This was "PechaKucha of the Day" on Wednesday, September 7th, 2016.

Experience follows context!

BY MIKE AMBACH
@ VOL 12 ON MAR 02, 2017
