As a fashion and costume designer, Nabeela Najjar creates garments that are heavily influenced by dreams and nature. She recently graduated from the College for Creative Studies where she focused on fiber and textiles design.

Detroit in a World Heritage Area

Julian Raxworthy is a registered landscape architect. Initially working as a landscape tradesman, he studied at Ryde Horticulture TAFE, until 1992. He later graduated with his undergraduate degree (with honours) and research masters degree (by design), both from RMIT, Australia. He is currently completing his PhD with the University of Queensland, concerning change in landscape architecture. Here Julian discusses the creative utilisation of low rental properties in his presentation "Detroit in a World Heritage Area." (in English)

Brigid KO Designs

Designer Brigid Oesterling of BrigidKO creates couture costuming and clothing made primarily from innertubes and recycled materials. Her focus has been to use innertubes from cars, motorcycles and bicycles. Not your typical recycled-wear, the recycled rubber material often has a leather look which the designer masterfully balances with other materials, often masking the identity of the innertube. Her work is innovative and, these unique pieces are both delicate and bold.

Fashionable Façades
