In "Empowering Women", from PechaKucha Night Brighton Vol.23, Nina Emett is the founder of UK based arts educational organisation called "FotoDocument". She is passionate about the power of narrative photography to make a difference. Her mission statement: to bring "Active global citizenship".Sharing one of her photo essay, Nina explains how she strives to empower women in India.

Selenia Rodriguez Vargas is a Costa Rican community development professional with a major in Business and English Elementary, focused on empowering women through entrepreneurship skills. My journey to Grand Rapids started in August 2015 as an International Fellow at Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women (GROW) via Community Solutions Program. What brought me here was my desire to learn how to enhance women´s capacity to be competitive, achieve entrepreneurial success, and contribute to my country.

At the end of Selenia's stay in Grand Rapids, she put together a last minute presentation to help us understand the realities of Latinas.
