Stand Up Paddling

SUP stands for "Stand Up Paddleboarding," which means that you stand up on a big surfboard and use a paddle. This ancient form of surfing reemerged when surf instructors realized the benefits of it, that by being higher you can better see oncoming waves. Today, SUP has turned into the fastest growing water sport in the world. Sunshine Surf Girls - Changing perceptions!

Growing up in country Australia may not be the best start for a surfer but since learning to surf at university, Liz Davison has never looked back. She’s produced a yoga for surfers, taught surfing in the Maldives, surfed with crocodiles in the Solomons, was the national president of Surfing Mums Australia and now heads Sunshine Surf Girls, an online and print surfing magazine for women. With a background in gender studies and community development, Liz hopes to build an international community of women surfers to change the roles and perceptions of women in the surf industry.
