As a self employed journalist in Williamsburg, Natalie Miller-Moore sees the need for it in our less-than-urban small city. So she has helped found CoWork Williamsburg and is here to compare and contrast the pitfalls of working from home or a coffee shop with the benefits of a cowork space. Coworking

BY MARA HAUSER
@ VOL 1 ON OCT 01, 2015

As a student of the evolving workplace, Mara Hauser explores how technology and culture have inspired new ways to work. Using historical references to collaborative farms (1700s), sweatshops (1800s), and the age of electronic business machines (1900s), Mara shares insights on the dynamic shifts that took place when technology got smaller, lighter, and more portable, allowing people to work from anywhere. As the most recent stage in this evolution, “coworking” is the new, economical alternative for working independently—but not alone—in a flexible, productive, shared workspace.

He then turns our imaginations to the future, proposing a new age of space exploration where the playing field has been levelled, the barrier of entry lowered, an exciting new era of new inexpensive tech in space, which we can all potentially participate, and for the benefit of all.
