How to use travel to face your fears

BY LIZ CARLSON
@ VOL 2 ON MAR 14, 2017

Liz Carlson - I travel a lot and I’ve got a lot of fears. How does that work? As a professional travel blogger, I roam the world for a living. But instead of just taking pictures and telling stories, I use my adventures as an opportunity to challenge myself and overcome different fears while inspiring other people to do the same. 50 odd countries later, I’ve still got anxiety but now I also have learned many new things and have had quite a few screwups along the way.

Surfing ...It's a Way of Life

BY WAKI SAGA
@ PECHAKUCHA SUMMER PARTY- CURATED BY MINI ON JUL 21, 2017

Waki Saga, Fujisawa city councilor has been surfing for 38 years, since playing for the first time at the Kugenuma Beach when his father, a pioneer of Japanese surfing history would take him. Waki first became involved in politics as an activist defending the Shonan beach development with his surfer mates 20 years ago, which has attracted the attention of many people and media. Since then, he continues to work to protect the sea and surf culture from within the field of politics. He gave us plenty of stories about the start of surfing in Japan that he learned from his father, and about the protection of the natural beach environment!
