Hailing from Shibuya, Tokyo, Daisuke Sasaki is made up of three parts: 50% art director - 40% graphic designer - 10% creative director. PARTY ANIMAL is an art project produced by Daisuke and his creative team,made using traditional Japanese Toy Fireworks.

The goal: Amidst humanity's diverse ways of navigating life Daisuke wishes PARTY ANIMAL to be a symbol of “hope” and to promote “pleasure without reason”.

In HATARAKIMONO PROJECT from PechaKucha Night Tokyo Vol. 153, KNARF showcases his tape-o-graphic portrait documentary about the busy bees of Japan. Manually processing his work with packing tape (+ anything from hardware or office supply stores), KNARF applies the principles of “BRICOLAGE” to photography, a contemporary Art movement born in NYC in the early 2000’s. His works adopt a “READY MADE”, “ARTE POVERA”, “D.I.Y.” aesthetic that straddles between a recent analogue past and an extreme technological present.

旅や車、音楽シーン、アパレルなど多岐に渡りフィルムをメインとして活動する、写真家の田中智道さん。こだわりのフィルムカメラでアメリカのディープなカルチャーを撮影する中で、時に危険なギャングを被写体にすることも。サバイバルな環境で、どのように相手と信頼関係を構築して撮影を行うか、撮影の奥義をプレゼンテーションしてくださいます。

Photographer Toshimichi Tanaka works mainly with a film camera traversing a wide ranging themes such as travel, automobile, music scene and apparel. In an attempt to delve deep into the culture of America, he had trespassed into the dangerous world of gangs, at times stranded in situations where survival precedes all other concerns. In the short span of twenty slides, he will showcase a series of photographs that was created upon a relationship of trust built over time.
