An evening of quickfire talks on passions.  A host of presenters will talk about things close to their hearts.  From design to breaking world records! Let's PechaKucha Brighton! 

Our 'Passionate' line up includes:

  • Holly Budge, a world record-holding adventurer + sustainable jewellery designer
  • Beth Radish, from creative hub Artpothecary
  • Philippa Stanton, contemporary synaesthetic artist and Instagram star
  • Tora Colwill, Undertaker and Founder of The Modern Funeral
  • Chris T-T, musician, radio-DJ and Creative Director of Lo-fi Arts
  • Nina Emett, Director of FotoDocument
  • JJ Waller, Photographer

In There's Something About That from PechaKucha Night Brighton Vol. 23, Will Hudson, the founder of creative agency called "It's nice that", explains why he's passionate about other people's creative skills. He shows off his favorites such as christmas card, sushi cats and many other interesting things!

Empowering Women

In "Empowering Women", from PechaKucha Night Brighton Vol.23, Nina Emett is the founder of UK based arts educational organisation called "FotoDocument". She is passionate about the power of narrative photography to make a difference. Her mission statement: to bring "Active global citizenship".Sharing one of her photo essay, Nina explains how she strives to empower women in India.

Phonebox Love

“They are not just a box or a kiosk, they are a brilliantly designed building.”

In PhoneBox Love from PechaKucha Night Brighton Vol. 23, Philippa Stanton shared with us her love for the world-renowned symbol of Great Britain - telephone boxes. Her love grew to be a fantastic photo project overtime, which we also get a chance to observe in the video.

Philippa is a synaesthetic artist, actress and an Instagram Starlet (she has 500k followers).

This was "PechaKucha of the Day" on Wednesday, September 14th, 2016.
