Body Language

BY GAETAN SCHMID
@ VOL 12 ON JAN 27, 2016

“You might see this when you don't know when to shut up. He wants to cover your mouth with his hand to get you to shut up, but that’s socially not correct so he projects his intentions over his own face.”

In Body Language from PechaKucha Night Johannesburg’s 12th volume, speaker Gaetan Schmid presents on the not quite secret language of the human body.  We create impressions in others minds of how we sit, stand and walk, he provides the guidebook to them. A very comical and informative presentation from what he has learnt in Theatre.

This was "PechaKucha of the Day" on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2016.

Life is a Pitch...

BY SHELLEY WALTERS
@ VOL 12 ON JAN 27, 2016

“One of the best salespeople I know is a guy called Brandon. He runs a foundation called life changes in Cape Town. Every day he is selling. He takes gangsters off the street and sells them clean living. Women who have been sex trafficked since age 10, he sells them celibacy.”

In "Life is a Pitch…" from PechaKucha Night Johannesburg Vol. 12, Shelley Walters shares her personal insight on life and how our lives are, essentially, a selling process. By improving how we sell ourselves and how we persuade the people around us, we can improve the general well-being of ourselves and others.
