We had a brilliant night at the first PechaKucha Night in the Borders! A lovely audience, and 7 inspiring presentations by Borders based designer-makers with plenty of opportunity to network afterwards in the unique Mac Arts space. Big thank you to Mark Timmins who doubled up as MC and presenter!
The presentations on the night were:
Mark Timmins – A textile designer's influences
Sam Cornwell – Imperfection is the New Black
Ranald Boydell – The architectural and sculptural heritage of Galashiels
Rachel Frost – Making History in the World of Hats
Jessie Growden – The inspirations and processes of laser-cut jewellery designing and making
Inge Panneels – On #making #glass and #maps
Sarah Taylor – Archive-inspired Digital Lace
We will shortly be uploading the presentations to the PechaKucha website so watch this space!
Big thank you to Zee Photography for the lovely images on the night.
PechaKucha Night Galashiels is hosted by Mary Morrison of the Creative Arts Business Network (CABN), which is part of Live Borders.
