PechaKucha Night is an entertainment event held several times a year in downtown Orlando. We feature an hour of mingling and socializing, followed by an hour of PowerPoint presentations on a variety of topics, led by some of the most interesting people in the city. (Followed by more mingling.)

Drawing its name from the Japanese term for "chitchat," PechaKucha rests on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It's a format that makes the presentations concise and keeps things moving at a rapid pace. Speakers present their PechaKuchas on any subject, from the personal to the public.

ABOUT GLOBAL NIGHT

On Global Night, the worldwide PechaKucha community (which includes over 600 cities) comes together virtually to inspire one another with great presentations. It's a chance to celebrate with the whole PechaKucha family around the world.

Past global nights have connected all participating PKN events via Ustream, "passing the baton" from one PechaKucha city to the next, in effect making a wave of presentations and conversations that circled the globe. This year we are teaming up with Google and will be using Google Hangouts to connect us all. Watch this page for more updates about our participation in Global Night!

In college he got overly addicted to a game called World of Warcraft and threw away four years of his life. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing. Phil escaped and soon found his dream job. Now he is launching a program called Play 15 which will utilize the good points about gaming to teach reading, writing, and problem-solving to kids who are in the situation he was once in.
