Curiosity without Limits: Play, Art and a T. rex Named Sue
BY ÁLVARO AMAT
@ VOL 2
ON FEB 29, 2016
"The choice isn't about science and are, it's about living and not living."
In "Curiosity without Limits: Play, Art and a T. rex Named Sue" from PechaKucha Night Batavia Vol. 2, Álvaro Amat works at the Field Museum of Natural History, where Sue, the world-famous Tyrannosaurus rex, is the star of a collection of some 30 million objects. His experience collaborating with the Field Museum’s scientists in the creation of exhibitions that inspire curiosity led him to combine art and science in spontaneous explorations and experiments with his son, Nicolas. As an artist, educator, and parent, Álvaro attempts to create an in-between space of curiosity and wonder to break the barriers between reason and imagination for the integral formation of a more complete, creative, and happy individual.
