When Mavis McRae quit her government job in favor of freelance work, she knew she had to be open to new experiences and opportunities in order to be successful. Her willingness and flexibilty allowed her to travel around the world, teaching marketing and business in China, the Phillipines, and Vietnam. In the words of Ashton Kutcher, "opportunity looks a lot like hard work, while luck looks like stepping out of your comfort zone."

Living Life Creatively...with Children

She embarked on a challenge in which she would complete an artwork during the time coming to her  presentation and document it to show how she is still able to be creative while having children and how she can influence them to be creative as well.

From attending developer conferences and reading tech blogs to buying books, he is always working to expand his knowledge. Most of Keith's career has been spent developing websites and working to perfect his knowledge of the associated languages. In more recent years, he has also been teaching himself to develop for Unity3D, which has quickly evolved into another aspect of his work.

Getting Down and Derby

Alex Krosney went to her first roller derby bout in April of 2011 – it was love at first whistle. A year of blood, sweat, tears, and track burn later Lex Go was born. A member of the Winnipeg Roller Derby League, Lex is now a skater on the All-Stars travel team and a captain of the home team that wins all of the afterparties, the Valkyries’ Wrath. She is also a trainer for the league and for the WRDL’s Junior league, which makes her Grinchy heart grow three full sizes every Sunday.

After years of taking portraits and noticing a lack of diversity in his portfolio, photographer David Lipnowski embarked upon a personal project that would consume his professional life for an entire year. He began taking a single, unique portrait daily as of January 1, 2013 and continued his task until the end of that year.
