The Mystery of Mimbres Pottery

Roslyn Fassett: While traveling through the Gila Wilderness area in New Mexico, I  drove into the valley of the Mimbres people. I have always been attracted by tribal art, so I focused on Mimbres pottery. Their polychrome clay bowls are greatly valued today. Rediscovered in the last century, valued and looted, the designs illustrate aspects of their everyday lives, ritual and otherworldly beliefs.
